“He was her man, but he done her wrong,” and the vengeful Wilis are out to get him. Get in the mood for Halloween and the supernatural spirits in a beautiful way on Sunday with “Giselle” performed by one of the world’s most acclaimed dance companies, The Bolshoi Ballet.

“Giselle” tells the story of a peasant maiden who, spurned by her highborn lover, dies of a broken heart. The Wilis, spirits who avenge such cruelty to women by dancing the offending man to death, are out to get him. They bid Giselle arise from her grave. Will she join them? And if so, to take her revenge or to save him by the enduring power of her love? This romantic (and spooky) story is performed in two acts and would be suitable for older children and current and future dance students, as well as ballet lovers.

Shown in HD, the show begins at 12:55 p.m. at the Makalapua Stadium Cinemas in Kona. Admission is $18 for adults, and $15 for seniors and students.
